Workshop Highlights

Join the Extreme Photo Workshops team during a historically active week for severe weather as we hunt sculpted supercells, tornadoes, and brilliant displays of lightning across Tornado Alley.

Our seasoned workshop pros will teach you the basics of reading meteorlogical models, following radar, and safely positioning yourself to document severe weather.

Learn how to master the extreme dynamic range demanded by storm photography, and create compositionally complete images, in a small group setting taught by award-winning instructors.

Receive image reviews and post-processing instruction after the workshop.

Lodging and Accommodations

Travel is in a roomy luxury SUV similar to a Chevy Suburban or Jeep Wagoneer. Luggage is restricted to one carry-on sized bag for clothes/toiletries and one camera bag to ensure all luggage and gear fits in the SUV.

We book lodging at mid-range hotels determined by Hotels.com ratings of an 8.0 or higher. Due to the unpredictable nature of chasing, we may end our night in rural towns with limited hotel options or may need to travel farther to find a hotel if there are no rooms available at our end-of-day location.

Recommended Personal and Camera Gear

Travel and Flights

Book flights to arrive and depart from Will Rogers Airport (OKC) in Oklahoma City. We encourage arriving by 6:00 pm the night before your workshop (in case of an early wake-up call on your first day) and booking departing flights after 3:00 pm on your departure date (in case we arrive back to Oklahoma City at a late hour on your last day).
